the whole story about the puppies....

ok. i screwed off making a post about my
hamster having babies a few weeks ago.
they are all doing fine. 5 out of 7 are
alive and kickin' at present.

now... on to the puppies.

yesterday morning my dog, keesa, had her
puppies. at first it looked like only 6 were
born... (a grey/white one was dead at the scene)...
but upon walking around the pen, i had found
a seventh (black) puppy, also dead.

5 puppies are now alive and kickin'.
4 females and 1 male.

the colors go like this:

one chocolate (my current fave)
one rust (kinda montag colored)
two blondies
and the male is black and white.

the chocolate is solid with a small white
patch on the chest. the rusty is also
solid and has a bit of white on the chest.
one blondie has white on the chest, the
mussle and the feet. the other blondie has
a white star in between her shoulder blades
on the back, and a star on the tip of the tail.

the black male has white running down his
neck, on his chest, his paws, and the tail.

i fear that the male will not make it. he
currently isn't eating despite my attempts
to help. i will keep an eye on him and if
worse comes to worse, i'll try to hand feed
him.

i hope everyone that i know lives relatively
close, comes to see them. they are just do
darned cute.
(and take one home, too) =P

i'm expecting them to be close to ready
during the week of xmas, which may work to
my advantage.

LOL!....

actually... both pregnancies were a surprise.
i was going to get rid of keesa a few days
before i saw tell-tale signs she was pregnant.
i felt that i should be the one to help her
through it.

puppy update:

so the blondie puppy with the white on the chest
(no star back)... is the regular 'whiner' of the group.

feeding... it whines
crawling... it whines
sleeping.... sure enough... it whines
(NO LIE!)

this puppy is so much like montag... with his
incessant barking... that it is now appropriately named:
